The Severna Park Optimist Club will be recognized  as an organization committed to optimism and dedicated to the improvement of youth and the community

Our Mission

The Severna Park Optimist Club’s mission is to foster an optimistic way of life and to provide ever-expanding service to youth, through programs designed to enhance youth and member personal skills and interests, in response to the needs of the central Maryland area.

• Optimist International Founded: 1919

• Headquarters: 4494 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis , MO 63108

• First Optimist Club: Optimist Club of Buffalo, NY - 1911

• First International Convention: Louisville, KY - June 1919

• Optimist Creed: By Christian D Larson in 1912 adopted by Optimist International in 1922

• JOOI (pronounced "joy") Junior Optimist Octagon International Founded: 1988
